Valle de Guadalupe is one of the world’s hottest up-and-coming wine regions. Events and festivals are popping up more and more highlighting the attractive food and winery scene.
The Mexican government granted political asylum to a group of immigrants fleeing the Russian Revolution. They established a colony in the Valle de Guadalupe and planted the seeds of an unassuming wine region. Most Russian settlers ended up fleeing the area around the time that World War II began, leaving the valley predominantly under Mexican influence.
