Project 91 started as a UK charity in 2012; in 2016 it became a Moroccan association. Our aim is to support young people in Essaouira, Morocco to complete their education, develop new skills and find work. We do this by:
Running a charity shop (we believe it to be the first in Morocco) – giving young people work opportunities
Providing small grants to help families cover the costs of schooling
Organizing and sponsoring training (for example free adult literacy and English classes, and hairdressing training)
Supporting other local charities who work with young people and families.
We raise money through our shop at 79 Rue Chbanat, where we sell donated clothes, jewelry, and other items donated through our Leave Your Wardrobe in Morocco campaign.
You can also donate money through the charity’s UK account (Project 91, Cooperative Bank, sort code 089299, number 65497302).
