    Non-Profit Organization dedicated to Education and Sustainable Development, located in Vang Vieng, Laos

    People from all over the world come together to discover and share experiences and knowledge with the Lao community to make a more sustainable way of life.
    We are a Lao, non-profit, non-governmental association dedicated to Education and to the Sustainable Development of the local population around Nathong Village in the district of Vang Vieng, Lao.

    Our Mission is to provide a holistic model for sustainable community development.
    The program is based on two key ideas:

    – Sustainability is holistic and must include sustainable technologies, education & health programs, job training & opportunities, and community involvement,

    – The best methods for creating lasting change are to lead through example and improve the lives of community members through sustainable developments.

    Our Vision:
    We want to be at the forefront of sustainable development in Lao. The benefits of this approach will be promoted through practical economic, social and environmental projects in the villages around our project site in Vang Vieng district and our organization will be an acknowledged leader in this way of working and living.

    We have already been recognized for our work by becoming the Energy Globe Awards – National Winner for Lao PDR in 2015.

    Volunteers from all over the world are welcome to interact side by side with the locals to make Laos a more sustainable place! Be enthusiastic, open-minded, responsible and eager!

    We aim to stride forward in :

    – Education accessible for all.
    One of the main goals is to promote equal education for all with English classes for children and adults plus several other educational programs for the local community, completely free of charge for our nearly 500 students and their families.

    – Create employment and build capacities for the local community.
    Currently, we have 11 full-time local employees and 5 part-time members, who work with volunteers to make projects happen. 50% of staff are female.

    – Promote environmental awareness and sustainable living.
    We aim to raise awareness of sustainability and environmental issues and work with local people on issues of sustainability. Our approach includes responsible use of natural resources, organic farming practices, and environmentally friendly building techniques.

    Some of the volunteer tasks include teaching English to children, helping with sustainable building projects, gardening and working on the rice fields during the appropriate seasons.

    We encourage creativity and we look forward to hearing suggestions and new ideas!
